“Tom and Jerry” has been a favorite for decades
Tom and Jerry is a funny American television series that has been running since the 1940s. It has been rated as one of the best animated series of all time and one of the longest running animated series. Each episode consists of two short films about a cat named Tom and a mouse named Jerry constantly arguing and fighting. Toms and Jerry is about slapstick, which “…is the resort to humor that involves exaggerated physical activity, which goes beyond the bounds of common sense.”
Tom, a gray cat, usually leads a spoiled life, and takes pleasure in torturing a mouse named Jerry. Jerry is a little brown mouse who lives in the same house as Tom. Each episode usually revolves around Tom and Jerry fighting and chasing each other. Most episodes end with Jerry being the victor of the two. Although Tom constantly chases after Jerry, he rarely tries to eat him. Although they fight and argue a lot, at the end of some episodes Toms and Jerry put their differences aside and act like friends. In fact, if Tom or Jerry is in imminent danger, the other is willing to do everything possible to help the other and try to save the other.
Recurring characters in the series
Tom and Jerry have some recurring characters throughout the series which include Spike, Tic, Butch, Toddler Galore, and Nibbles. Spike is a vicious and unintelligent dog at times. Although he sometimes lets his nerves get the best of him, he always has a sweet spot for his son Taek. Tyke is the young, innocent, sweet, and lovable son of Spike. In the episodes, Spike and Teck are seen throughout the series, and Spike is constantly chasing around Tom.
If anything happens to Spike or Tike, Spike immediately blames Tom no matter the circumstances and starts chasing after him. Butch a black cat knows Tom. Most often, Butch and Tom are seen arguing over a cat named Toodles Galore. The only thing Tom and Butch have in common is that they both want to catch Jerry. Nibbles is the nephew of a young, careless Jerry. Nibbles is less aware of their surroundings than Jerry, which sometimes gets him into trouble. Nibbles, he is also part of the Musketeers along with Jerry.
Less talk, more clowning
